Ellesmere Chamber of Commerce, in association with Fullwood, Tudor Griffiths Group and the Shropshire Star is pleased to present Ellesmere’s “PARTY IN THE PARK” to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the international charity, Save the Children and its founder, Ellesmere born, Eglantyne Jebb
The event will take place on Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 7.30pm – 10pm
(Gates open from 6.30pm)
The British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, conducted by Fraser Goulding, will play two hours of wonderful light classical music, themes from film and television along with all time favourite music from the shows. They will be joined by guest soloists Jeni Bern and Andrew Forbes Lane and the whole evening will be superbly presented by Mark Langley.
The night will culminate in a superb musical firework finale!
This is an “all ticket only event” with limited availability – so make sure you get yours as soon as possible! Admission is £16 per adult with one child (up to 12yrs) going free with each full paying
adult – but this is limited to the first 500 children!
You are invited to bring your picnics to the Park, including your own alcohol; however, there will be a small selection of cold food and soft drinks available on site.
We will be joined by Louis Barnet, the young entrepreneur from Bridgnorth, who is a Save the Children ambassador and Clare Mulley author of the book “The Woman who saved Children”.
Louis, founder of Chokolit, will be launching his pro-biotic chocolate bars and Clare will be signing and selling her book, proceeds from both will be going directly to the Save the Children Fund.
All profits made from the anniversary concert will be split evenly between Save the Children and various children’s organisations in Shropshire.
A celebrity guest will be joining us to open the whole event – watch this space to find out who it will be!!!
